An Introduction to Juicing - Getting the Best from Fruits and Vegetables - Juicing Tips

Dump your cooker!

I am not kidding here. You may find you'll never need it again (unless like me you do baking!). All you'll ever want after embarking on this is to know that good, fresh, wholesome produce is going into your system.

On a serious note though, I used that headline grabber to get you here so that you learn something vital.

You need to re-arrange your kitchen so that the juicer and all you need is central. Why?

Because if you don't you'll end up treating this like you did the sandwich toaster. Every now and then, - then never!

Getting onto a juicing diet is a way of life that brings enormous benefits, but the crucial benefit comes if - and read this slowly - it is the first thing you consume. There is no use in cramming yourself with bread and meat and other gut filling products and then slamming juices on top of it. Your body is working to get rid of much of the stuff you just ate, and you won't get the benefits of your juice.

For this reason you'll want your juicer to be ready for you in the morning. Give it a prominent space, along with a good sized chopping board. Plan what you'll have in the morning the night before and when you get up, think positively about what you are doing, how good it is for you and do it! Every morning.

As for the usual moan that it's all such a hassle with the cleaning and stuff - well, how much more hassle is this:

You get two eggs, some ham, you fry them in a frying pan, you then deposit this on a plate, whilst keeping an eye on the toast. Then you take knife and fork, eat, then put plate and knife and fork and butter knife and side plate in sink, forget about them, 'cos you are now late for work....

Seeeeee? And what you consumed will do you more harm than the goodness of a glass of revitalising, cleansing and nourishing fruit or vegetable juice.

But do get into the habit of cleaning your machine straight away. It's very easy, the tricky bit is the filter, but all that needs is a nail brush (seriously, that's what I use.) When the machine is cleaned, sit back and slowly enjoy the fruits of the little labour you have just done. All that's left is to rinse out the glass.
